Top Design Trends to Look Forward To In 2022

As we’ve gotten off to a fresh new start and heading into late winter, we’ll start to notice some emerging design trends begin to come forward. There is more and more research that shows the direct influence that our homes have, not only on our moods but our overall health and well-being. And Aas we enter into our third consecutive year in a global pandemic, we are forced to stay in and spend time in our homes. So is it any wonder that we want our homes to reflect our moods and how we feel? This year’s top trends inspire all those feel-good emotions: coziness, warmth, and softness all-around. Read below for some of these amazing new design trends that you’re about to see:

Nature Inspired:

Anything nature-inspired like incorporating greens and blues, warm earthy tones, browns, and anything terra-cotta colored. Think, anything stoneware, terra-cotta, marble, and travertine are all being used in the home, from bathtubs to countertop surfaces, sinks, walls, cabinet overlays.

Curved Shapes:

Another trend we’ll see is anything curved in form and shape. Large, rounded, and curved shapes will be all over as well as natural materials, earthy interiors, which reflect our growing desire for anything nature-inspired. With more time being spent at home, we’re all seeking a connection to the earth and with found objects as the reason for art. This subconsciously represents a feeling of safety, warmth, friendliness, and welcoming. Would you want anything else in your environment? Sculptural forms in furnishings and art are becoming more prevalent.

Venetian Plaster:

Another trend we’ll be seeing is Venetian plaster and limewash walls. Plaster walls have been around for a long-time showing time-past and used by craftsmen all throughout time to show a living presence and textural quality to your walls.

Outdoor Furniture:

Outdoor furniture will also be heavily influenced by buyers and clients alike. Anything to elevate the outdoor space will be a welcome to all. Finally our patios will become an extension of our indoor spaces and outdoor furniture will become more sophisticated and refined.

Textures All-Around:

Also, tactile textures and anything that resembles natural wood, stonework, or the roughen quality found all throughout nature will inspire many to incorporate these elements into their home décor.

Dual-Purpose Rooms:

Another décor trend that his here to stay is dual-purpose rooms. With many of us working and learning in one space, its important for that duality to coexist in an organized way. Family rooms often become a place for learning, playing, hanging out and tv watching all at the same time. So as many areas designated to incorporate these different functions will play heavily into the new trends of this year.

High-tech:

Also anything high-tech will always be in fashion. From connected stove top ranges and refrigerators to our washer and dryers being timed, window shades and ice makers all having a high-tech moment where connectivity is crucial and key to keeping our home-life convenient and easily accessible.

Leather:

Other design trends we’ll see this year, is leather, which is making a huge presence. Warm honey butter and caramel colored leather furniture pieces are here to stay.

Grandma-Style:

Another trend we are absolutely loving is the grand millennial look. Where everything from floral patterns to damask and stripes all being incorporated into the same space and going with a more is more look. We even love the textural quality of these wooden and woven decor items.

With so many new design trends coming out of 2022 and starting this year off with fresh inspiration everywhere, its no wonder we are getting so many requests to style and design interiors with these trends.
