Holiday Decorating Do's

With the holidays right around the corner, we’ve been busy getting ready for all the festivities. From office parties, to family gatherings, sending out holiday cards, wrapping gifts and more we’ve got all the tips and tricks with some of our holiday must - do’s below to help you with all your festive needs this holiday season.

1. Do Pick a Theme

Decorating with a theme is key to creating a continuous feel and mood throughout your home. Picking two or three colors and sticking with them throughout your home is a great idea. You can select white or cream and add in some green throughout. If you’d like to add some sparkle go for a silver or gold. Do select other colors than just green and red, which will bring a modern twist to your holiday decor. Even selecting nature-inspired decorations throughout helps to unify each space. You can bring in holly, poinsettias, pine cones, pomegranate, to decorate each area. Keep to your theme with each surface or area you decorate to stay consistent throughout your home.

2. Do Go For Cozy

Make sure you bring in some blankets, pillows, candles to set the holiday mood for each space. We love cozy chunky blankets, fun holiday pillows in our chosen color theme and lots of candles everywhere.

3. Do Add Some Sparkle

Make sure to bring in sparkle wherever you decorate. Sparkle keeps things festive and fun and brings some texture into your space.

4. Do Set The Table

After the decorations are up, do the set the table. Setting the table allows you to showcase more of your personal side. Throwing in some must-have table decor such as holiday flowers, festive table linens and eye catching dinnerware will showcase your personal flair. Even mixing in your favorite china or vintage ware will make your table shine.

5. Do Keep Family Traditions

Keeping family traditions is what makes the holidays extra special. From adding personal ornaments to your tree or garland to those hand knitted stockings, make sure to stick with what makes your family’s holidays special.

6. Do Incorporate Scents

Smell plays an important part of the season. Nothing says the holidays like clove-stuffed oranges. Make sure to incorporate those holiday scents to create an overall festive mood for your home.
